Brushing up on theory
It's been awhile since I've studied music theory both aural and written and I was wondering if anyone can recommend how to get back into it?

You make me feel almost legit. I thought I have been ripping tunes off the radio for all these years.
Before chordie and all these lyric/tabulature websites sprung up on the internet, taping a tune as it played on the radio and sticking one's ear in the stereo - skulling out words, chords, solos and basslines was the only way.
You still have to watch out for writers like the Beatles who publish wrong notes and chords on purpose.

The Beatles themselves didn't do it. Remember, they sold all their songs to the EMI holding company Northern Songs, Ltd., and it was their staff writers who transcribed the songs. For example, on the song "Nowhere Man," if you weren't there, and weren't familiar with the fact they ran the guitars through two board channels ganged to get a double boost of treble, how would anybody ever figure out that on the first chord of the tag it's probably George playing a straight forward E maj chord on one of the matching sonic blue Strats and then the rest of the notes of the tag, while probably John is playing a first position B min chord on top of it and letting it ring, and not a strange something or other with George's 12-string Rick?
