okay, not tuba related, but I figure the more exposure this can get the better. Please respond to Matt Baldoni with any info you may have.

What a terrible thing to happen to a musician. And all of those fantastic axes as well. I hope he gets back every one in perfect condition and the punks who committed the crime are caught and convicted.

Ten years ago when I was working on getting a job as an orchestral player, I had as many recordings of common tuba audition pieces as I could find. The collection averaged about six recordings for every work and was over 300 CDs. I kept them in a special duffle bag so I could bring them back and forth from my apartment to my rehearsal studio at UCLA.
One day somebody broke into the apartment and stole the whole bag, with all the CDs. I wonder what he thought when he opened it up and found 5 recordings of Rite of Spring and 10 recordings of Symphony Fantastique.
I looked for a few months in used record stores in town but didn't find anything. I have replaced much of the collection, but only have one or two now of each work. This world is full of wicked theives and criminals who will someday know the truth. I just hope that day comes sooner than later.
