If the increased population and it's inherent need for "things", which in turn spurs on the building of plants and infrastructure to produce those things, has created an obese world, not in the sense that people are getting fatter, they are, but the proverbial "weight of the world" AND what would be the effect of all that added mass on the structure of the planet on its orbit and stability in the universe. I've got to believe there is a breaking point. Anybody?

We don't import lots of material from outside the planet, so it isn't really added mass, though of course some places get heavier. At a geological scale, I would think our biggest impact tends to be on water - water impounded here, drained from aquifers there.

Didn't you hear the news about China becoming the world's manufacturing leader next year? The Earth will clearly tilt towards China now. Tubas alone...

Eventually China will get so weighed down by the weight of all the coal and iron dug up in Oz and shipped to China that a reverse China Syndrome will occur amd China will sink right through the earth's core and displace California.

One part of the overall sequence will be the triggering of a massive earthquake which will rip much of present California (everything S and W of the San ANdreas Fault) off and set it adrift into the Pacific ocean. It is anticipated that that portion of California will eventually settle off New Zealand and become the Eastern Island to go with the North and South Islands. By the time this all happens Oz will have been so reduced in size that it will be the Western Island.


It is not recommended that you try to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders without wearing a body builder's belt.

I would believe that the things to which you refer have about the same amount of effect as jumping upward in a falling elevator as an attempt to avoid the ultimate crash at the bottom.

The "children of Israel" are the peoples of Western Europe, the UK, and the USA. And there is very little time left!
