Has anyone seen this gem of '88? I finally broke down and ordered it on amazon after secretly coveting it for quite a while. I'm looking forward to it if for no other reason than that the guy playing the tuba looks strangely like one of the tuba players in my studio....

It's a stinking synthasizer !! I just saw less then 1/3 of it on u-tube and it stinks. Its the
worst Jackie Chan movie I've ever seen.......by far !
Sorry !
And that's saying something! Some of his early movies were somewhat less than stellar.
Looking at it from a historical point of view, it's very interesting. Forget the part about the tuba. The good part about that is no one really makes fun of the police officer for being a tuba player, as is the case in so many movies like this.
What to look at is that this was a movie made when Hong Kong was a British Crown Colony. If you go to Hong Kong today and watch the police band, it's very different. It looks more American (sousaphones are present).
Otherwise, I agree... This isn't one of the best movies in any category. (But for some reason, when I have company over, they love to watch it!)
