Easter Helicons

Post by OldHorn »

8 Helicons were in action in Salem, NC on Easter 2011. Brown Mule missed the photo op, maybe even saving a camera lens. Great band, 100's of players, lots of plain old tubas, and a few sousas too.

Salem? You know, if this where another time, this many Helicons gathering would have got them burned as witches.

Oh wait, that was Salem, Massachusetts.

STILL A GOOD JOKE!

All kidding aside, this is super cool. It isn't everyday that you see this many Helicons, especially in one place.

This is just a mild performance of this above pictured group! Its nothing for some of this same group to appear at some performance with a Serpent, Ophycleide, OTS, Martin giant Souz, or Russian Bassoon. Directors are known to take a "Xanax" before going to a performance where one of them might appear.
