The City Band I play with on the 4th and other times has been playing since 1897. Here is an example of the band on June 30th. Yes, I'm in the Tuba section. We play all the old marches. On July 21st we will play "Them Basses". Now if a whole bunch of tubas showed up for a flash mob of sorts it would be very cool..

Also, the band shell was constructed in 1937 with WPA money. It is in need of repairs, here is some history.

I love to play The Thunderer. Sounds great. Great tradition. Just think -- this band played The Thunderer when it was a relatively new composition! Thanks for the link.
