I think it still remains to be seen how much of Prometheus borrows from the novella. Both involve human explorers in uncharted territory that (presumably, in the case of Prometheus) come across a more sophisticated alien civilization.
Success of Prometheus, however, won't necessarily doom "At the Mountains of Madness." If Hollywood has taught us anything with this endless parade of sequels, prequels, and reboots, it is that the studios will copy what makes money. If Prometheus bombs, however, we might not see "ATMOM" for a long time.

I'm afraid it does not, though I saw NO hype for it.

Re: Prometheus vs. At the Mountains of Madness
SPOILER ALERT FOR PROMETHEUS.
If you saw Prometheus, can you confirm these two errors?
1. Someone in the cast said something like, "The atmosphere is 3% Carbon Dioxide, so you won't last long without your oxygen mask." That shouldn't be a problem, unless I heard wrong.
2. In the first Alien movie, I think the humans found the dead pilot in the pilot's seat. But in Prometheus, he does not die anywhere near his pilot seat.
Any feedback or corrections are welcome.
thanks, Bruce

I've heard there is to be a sequel/prequel.
