I will be spending a long weekend (Friday - Sunday) in Santa Fe for a wedding next month and will have some free time to do some day-hiking and exploring. Do any of you have any recommendations on places/trails to check out? Is Taos worth a visit? What about Tent Rocks? I've been to Albuquerque and am not planning on spending much additional time there.
Thanks,
TMB

I personally try to avoid Taos as it is too tourist oriented in my opinion. There are a lot of beautiful hiking spots in the area. If it were me, I would head north out of Santa Fe on Hwy 285 and just see what catches your attention.

On our visit to that area we went to Acuma (sp) Pueblo and to Petroglyph National Monument. Very cool, both of them. There was also a fabulous tram ride up to a good restaurant.
