When I was young, I saw a Captain Kangaroo where Mr. Green Jeans played a piece on the Sousaphone. Watching him play the Sousaphone influenced me to want to play the tuba. My honest and humble thanks to Mr. Green Jeans, Hugh Brannum. You never know what will influence someone.

Here's a B&W photo of Cap'n Kangaroo (Bob Keeshan) "playing" what appears to be a Jumbo raincatcher. Perhaps it was Hugh Brannum who actually provided the sound of the sousaphone for the episode.
