Bloke report.

Post by Walter Webb »

Somebody said recently that Bloke was some kind of curmudgeon, or a grumpy dude, or something. I would like to report that he is a stand up guy. He really knows his instrument repair stuff, and he will do whatever it takes to do a good job. He is a generous fellow, and a softie inside, no matter what you might think you see on the outside.

Thanks for listening.

I've always liked reading Joe's posts for one reason or another. While we haven't met in person yet, we've talked once or twice on the phone and had a few email conversations and he's always been very helpful and kind to me.

Who is this 'bloke' guy, anyway? Seems I've heard of him but not sure.

That guy who goes by the name "bloke" has some of the most humorous posts on this site. He makes this site worth coming to even if he pisses some people off. I like that he realizes that we play the freaking tuba and should not take ourselves too seriously :)

What a disappointment.

Never look at the bloke section - it only encourages them.

I have been up to Bloke's compound quite a few times. I've had him do a complete valve rebuild on a 100yr old 6/4 Conn, and it turned out beautifully. I'm envious of the guy I traded it to, but I bet he misses his F tuba a lot. . .

Bloke is friggin' awesome. There's always an interesting project in the shop, and the conversation (while he's working) is pretty interesting. Also, Bloke is pretty humble about his playing abilities- he's actually one of the better players I know, and I know a lot of really talented players.

Also, did I mention that he does great work? What I also like about Bloke is that he communicates professionally and is honest. He won't do you wrong. I recommend Bloke to everyone looking for instrument repair, or even for simple advice.
