My wife has vertigo attacks from time to time. Her's is BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). BPPV has to do with the crystals in your inner ear fluid becoming disturbed and floating around. This can happen with a fall, stumble or sometimes just a sudden movement of the head.

I've helped my wife by doing the Epley maneuver on her to help the crystals settle. It works but sometimes can take a couple of times doing this. My 91 y.o mother-in-law has this too, but I can't convince her to get an Epley treatment. She takes some meds for motion sickness.

Caution, this is part of a TNFJ response.

Re: vertigo experience
It seems your first attack is your worst and then they taper off. I've had it for 10 years and only get it occasionally now .When I first got it the attacks were more often and worse . The worst part for was I it made me feel sleepy all the time. Now they are just a minor nuisance .
Do the Epley maneuver as talked about here already . It works.
Mine was brought by the use of Predinsone I was taking to treat my herniated disks. Prednisone has some really nasty side effects.
