Sometimes, what it means is that it isn't meant to be yours, and if you got it, it would fall far short of your requirements.

But then I think of the Aesop's fable of the fox and the grapes.

I bought a Model T from my cousin a few months ago. I thought the shipping would be the easy part. WRONG. Hopefully it will be here in the next couple weeks after having to find a second shipping company.

A magnet is your friend! A cheezoid body/paint job is easy to spot. Flat things aren't flat, straight things aren't straight, curved things aren't curved.

And, yes with a few exceptions (finding Grandpa's pickup, a genuinely rare car, etc.) another one *will* come along.

Mine was a '67 4dr Le Mans. It was pale yellow with a black vinyl roof. It had a V8 but not the 400.

Go for it!!

It's a 1926 Tudor - was one of my uncle's many old cars.
Heavy ("closed") car for a 20 hp engine, although I've always liked their styling....

I've got a 1924 touring (much lighter).....when I rebuilt the engine, I "souped" it up so it's now up to about 30 hp. I've pushed it up to about 55 mph (only once, it's as scary as s#!t....)

That's cool too!!

Out house was built in 1926 and the garage was obviously made for cars of that era...

Just like the closets. :(

This car came from San Diego too. I have it because the guy moved to Illinois and sold it here.

Until my hips and knees give out and I can't manually shift anymore (picture taken in the late '80's right after I got it - notice I am wearing a green Jaguar sweater purchased at the factory in Coventry):

Both problems that would be some inconvenience in your area, I suppose. (AC is somewhat superfluous up here, and driving style is a little less intense.) Carburetor easy to get out and clean? I was surprised how simple it was with my old Plymouth, but that was a few generations older.
