Demon Dawgs (RIP)

Post by brianf »

Just came over the news - Demon Dawgs just closed their doors! A Chicago institution bites the dust! Under the Fullerton L near DePaul, Demon Dawgs was famous for cheap hot dawgs and open all the time. Word was they had a Maitre D on Saturday nights.

progress sucks . . . who needs a new CTA station anyway.

There's still Carm's at Polk and Carpenter, 1 blcok west of the UIC library. I owe many of my pounds to the 18 years I lived a block away from that joint.

Al's Beef on Taylor and Aberdeen also has good dogs, to say nothing of its legendary italian beef. It's all that "vintage" greast in the deep fryer. There's some talk that if they ever clean them out, there may be parts of Jimmy Hoffa there.

Don't know about Philly but they did it at Demon Dawgs. It freaked out the Saturday night drunks.
