Re: A thread for bad ideas...
Sorry i have been slacking in my bad idea generation.
Don't suppose for one moment that they have been replaced by actually bonified good ideas.
They ain't.
I wonder though if anyone is overly devoted to rotaries...
Rotary dialed phone. Rotary engines. Rotary intersections.
I have a friend who always represses the urge to go more than one full turn on roundabouts, or at least the most common one we navigate. Does that count?

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Had a “business lunch” at a place I wouldn't normally eat at. They had an”Peanut Butter Hamburger” on the menu. It was described as having the inside both buns slathered in peanut butter, with an all beef burger and full trimmings.

What this country really needs is a double-bell euphonium where the directional bell rotates constantly while you play. Such an instrument could be called the Lesliephone.
Convenient controls would allow the player to turn the effect on and off, as well as to modulate the rate of rotation.

Re: A thread for bad ideas...
The naming of the Lesliephone wouldn't perchance be inspired by the naked gun series?
That seems entirely fitting, an i would support this, but would also be content if it were not automated, and it was just a clever handle the player could manipulated with an off hand.

That would make it even MORE of a bad idea! (I would imagine it's actually referencing the Leslie speaker)humBell wrote:The naming of the Lesliephone wouldn't perchance be inspired by the naked gun series?

Heh, I wasn't thinking of Leslie Nielsen and The Naked Gun series...but it is a funny coincidence. The Brute Squad wrote:That would make it even MORE of a bad idea! This proposed instrument, of course, seeks to achieve a sonic effect similar to the Leslie® rotating speaker.
It is intended to be used as a substitute for the Lasso d'Amore in the performance of Bach's The Preachers of Crimetheus.
When you see Lesliephones on eBay, complete with a pair of white gloves, remember--you saw it here first on TubeNet.

Awaiting a parade, chatting with percussion who complained of bass drum awkwardness.
Anyone ever fill a bass drum with helium or some other lighter than air gas?
Does it lighten it? Or affect the tone?
Or better yet, a hot air balloon style thing. Then just turn it on and off as needed.

SCK
Depends on how many Harolds are using it.
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Oh, and i suppose SCK could apply to me much of the time these days...
I am not sure the coding properly encapsulates the other potential geocultural influences possible...

A banned band?

Re: A thread for bad ideas...
Just checking...
When is the right time to get in an argument with the head of the chamber of commerce?
Today's bad idea in my world: starting laundry before remembering i left the clothes i marched in yesterday in the car...
And is a daily bad idea a bad idea?
Well, yes of course .
But, i mean... is the idea to identify such ideas on a daily basis bad in and of itself?
