I think I mentioned before that the picture used for my signature is of a Chinese cemetery in my ex-wife's home town in Central Java, Indonesia.

If you remember the terrible tsunami that happened, mainly, to the island of Sumatra, you know how terrible it was. I don't think I ever saw a catastrophe that was so exploited on the Internet. Anyway, it happened a few months prior to the filing of my divorce.

The tsunami was nowhere near my ex-wife's family but we would get bereavement cards in the mail. Everyone just knew that her family was hurt.

Indonesia is a big country. It somewhat reminds me of when I travel overseas and people on the plane ask me, "Where are you from?" I say, "California." And they will ask me something like, "Do you know my cousin who lives in Sacramento?"

I am not meaning to belittle the subject of this thread. I am very happy that nothing happened in that home.

But I can remember the big earthquake we had here in 1994. Actually, this area received no damage at all. We had a few deaths, in the way of heart attacks, mostly relatively young people! We had a cat at that time, who was spayed the week before that quake. She was on medication to make her sleep at night. When I took her back to the vet, four days after the earthquake, my cat was the only one that didn't have bandages on her ears. They explained that before the earthquake, the cats started acting crazy, then broke through a window. One, with his hind legs in a cast, was in an upstairs apartment.
