Dem Bones

Post by Haugan »

As a final joke, I have arranged to leave my skeleton to the Universiy of Wisconsin Zoology Department for display in an exhibit along with the Chimpanzee, Orangutan, and Gorilla that already exist on display in Birge Hall. In that I am 6'8" tall, we have jokingly discussed whether or not some reference to "Sasquatch" or "Bigfoot" be made, or perhaps "Paul Bunyan". Others (mainly musicians) have suggested that we put it between the Chimpanzee and existant (smaller) human skeleton, and list it: "Tuba Player"................(Something to further confuse the proponants of "intelligent design")

No fan of the undertaking industry - me, I made arrangements for the local medical school to come "pick me up" with yet more specific instructions that THEY are responsible for disposal when THEY are "through" with me. Further, I have prohibited my wife/relatives from conducting any sort of "funeral/memorial service". I am a Christian, but I never really bought into the latter-day concept of a "Christian burial". (' can't seem to find anything about that anywhere in the Book.) I have given permission to invite people to drop by, have a quiet (or raucous) party, and tell funny stories on me, but that's all. ' any more than that, and I have promised to incessantly haunt my surviving relatives. Image
My mother's as well as my arrangements are the same minus the medical school. We are both doing the cremation thing...although I would like a nice funeral pyre (like darth vader). That would be sweet

Indeed. After a "harvest" of usable organs, tissue, etc., by University Hospitals, my skeletal remains will travel to Birge Hall for "proper treatment" prior to display. My way of "repaying" the University for the countless benefits I've gained by association over the last 50 years.

Does that mean we have to wait until such time to tell stories on you, or just funny stories on you?
