I've never known a sense of superiority to be of any great benefit to anyone.

Are we really any better than those guys on the bus? We're actually talking about how stupid two people are (who most of us will never meet or even see and would be unable to identify if we did)... On a tuba message board no less!

I think generalized hostility towards people you don't even know is an lousy position to adopt. We've all sounded stupid at some point in our lives. Many of us have even done it on a city bus.

Can't we get back to solving life's great mysteries? Like piston vs. rotor, silver vs. laquer?

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Colonel: get some discipline into those chaps, Sergeant Major!

Sargeant: Right sir! Good evening, class.

All (mumbling): Good evening.

Sargeant: Where's all the others, then?

All: They're not here.

Sgt.: I can see that. What's the matter with them?

All: Dunno

member of class: Perhaps they've got 'flu.

Sgt.: Huh! 'Flu, eh? They should eat more fresh fruit. Ha. Right. Now, self-defence. Tonight I shall be carrying on from where we got to last week when I was showing you how to defend yourselves against anyone who attacks you with armed with a piece of fresh fruit.

(Grumbles from all)

Palin: Oh, you promised you wouldn't do fruit this week.

Sgt.: What do you mean?

Jones: We've done fruit the last nine weeks.

Sgt.: What's wrong with fruit? You think you know it all, eh?

Palin: Can't we do something else?

Idle (Welsh): Like someone who attacks you with a pointed stick?

Sgt.: Pointed stick? Oh, oh, oh. We want to learn how to defend ourselves against pointed sticks, do we? Getting all high and mighty, eh? Fresh fruit not good enough for you eh? Well I'll tell you something my lad. When you're walking home tonight and some great homicidal maniac comes after you with a bunch of loganberries, don't come crying to me! Now, the passion fruit. When your assailant lunges at you with a passion fruit...

I guess I shouldn’t of posted this thread. I really don’t like to snob around and think I’m superior to anyone (because I'm really not), but in a world where it’s not important anymore it’s a novelty to actually have half a brain.

Perhaps the thread name, rather than "Disturbing", should be "Enturbing"

I can touch my elbows behind my back.
But women are not able to do this.
The next time you see a woman, ask her to try.

:?: When is it appropriate to ask her...?? Should she be asked at the same time you're asking her if she can park her feet behind her head...??
