HAMM'S!!!!! Love it. They actually had a cheap version of Hamm's out for a while called "Buckhorn". We used to be able to get a case of it in college for $3 at Gordon's Liquors in Greeley, CO. We called it "Bucksnort" for obvious reasons. We bought Hamm's when we wanted to impress a date. Good times.Finest "poor white trash" beer in the world, ever:
This crap actually won several taste tests for domestic beers back in the early 1980s. I participated in one of them and was quite surprised that I picked some nasty swill that my father used to drink while in the Marines. Darn good stuff. Too bad no one ever knew this …

Bud IS at the bottom of the heap. I like watery weak ("American Lager") beers for the sake of being drunk, Coors light being my choice. Plus, they're on the less expensive side as well.
Other than that, I'm a fan of Sierra Nevada PA for all around beer, and Sam Adams Boston Lager as beer after a good meal.

I sent a German buddy home with a six-pack of this stuff last summer. I've never actually tasted horse piss but this stuff has got to be close!

I was a dedicated homebrewed, compiling a record of 51 5-gallon batches brewed right in my kitchen. I favor the hoppier ales.
Commercially, I'm a Sierra Nevada guy - Pale Ale, Celebration or Anniversary.

Here in south east PA there is the Yuengling brewry. they make a fine Lager and a Black and Tan. Not bad for a mass produced beer.
A local micro brewery just started making Reading Premium. The old Reading brewery closed about 40 years ago, but this new brewer bought the rights to the name and has crafted a brew that is supposed to be similar to the original. They couldn't come up with the original recipe but knew the ingredients and after talking to some former employees, they say they have come up with a brew that is close. i bought a case last week and i must say it is pretty good. It is just a typical yellow beer, but it has a nice crisp taste to it, nothing fancy. they sell it in bottles with the same old style labels. if I can find a picture to post I will try to do it. here is their website:

For imports I like Bass ale and Fransikaner Weiss beer. There is a local German club that sells the Fransikaner, unfiltered draft with a slice of lemon...great stuff. there is also another local brewer in Kutztown PA, Golden Avalanche (i have no idea where that name came from here in PA, but ...) that also make s a very good unfiltered "weiss bier" great with a slice of lemon. We went to the pub last weekend and I always get their smapler and they had two seasonal brews right now that were very unique, a blueberry ale and a very dark ale with a definite chocolate nose. Wow they were both great.

I've just heard that a descendant of the Schlitz family, Joseph Schiltz VI, with the dent microbrews make in the big boys' business, is brewing original recipe Schlitz again. I'm going to find some, and if I do, I'll post how the "comeback" is.
Now, if only a Stroh descendant would do the same thing. That was one good tasting lager on a hot day.

Elephant, is this a Belgian? I had one once after about 10 other equally expensive brews. Real smooth stuff from what I recall.Chimay when "just drinking beer."
The original Oktoberfest brand. Nectar of the gods.Or how about Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest?
I will not argue with this.Free.
Those monks have their priorities in order. Beer, then everything else.Fransikaner Weiss beer
