Although I'm not attending TMEA, my wife, and 2 sons are flying to Austin today. My euph son is auditioning at UT and then at U of NT. We'll be staying at my daughter's in Austin and flying home Monday - more auditions. My tuba son is staying in Texas to attend TMEA with his sister and her husband. So, if you see a skinny girl and skinny boy who looks a little like me, it's probably them. Feel free to say hello!! My daughter's husband is skinny too, but he doesn't look anything like me! I'll get to TMEA one of these years, especially having a daughter living in Texas and maybe a son attending college in Texas.

Since I am pre-registered, and I live in S.A., I guess I might as well attend.

Wayne has requested having another "jam session." If there is sufficient interest, I am willing to host it at my house. If the interest is high, we can see about getting another place to play. Therefore, I ask the following questions:

1)Do any of you want to have a reading session during T.M.E.A.?

2)When would you like to have it(if indeed we do)?

3)Do you have any other comments or suggestions?

If we have it, I can provide a fairly large number of tunes to read. I assume Ken would be willing to bring some things. Other arrangements would certainly be welcome.

If I do not hear from anyone, I will assume there is insufficient interest. Perhaps Wayne, Ken, and I, plus perhaps one other person will try to do this ourselves.

Please respond in this thread, or feel free to email or call me, if you have my personal information. By the way, I am on Facebook.

I will not be going to the conference this year. HOWEVER, I am down for getting together off of I-10 for some seafood!

1) Meet and eat at Sea Island on I-10.
2) Possible jam session.

Unless we are able to crunch the two into one night, my suggestion would be to eat at Sea Island on Tursday night and do the jam session on Friday night. Any thoughts?
That sounds fun!

Sea Island on Thursday, and jam session on Fri. sounds good to me. I will be absent from Sea Island, but will see to having the jam session. Anyone else interested? It would be helpful to know ahead of time.

Que?

Rick "recalling 100 varieties of outstanding Mexican food, and the greatest barbecue on the planet, and chocolate pie to die for at the Tip Top, massive chicken-fried steaks at the 410 Diner, but nothing in the seafood department that would impress anyone who grew up closer to the Gulf" Denney

As someone who grew up a little farther south of San Antonio, I wouldn't go bragging about the Mexican food here.
