I hope you aren't trying to imply that US environmental issues and efforts to improve are in any way, shape or form comparable to the disaster that is China. If you believe that then you are uninformed. Every energy form has major issues. Pick your poison - they all have issues and when you start eliminating what can be used you reduce supply and prices will rise dramatically. The economy will implode and unemployment will rise dramatically. Certain regions of the country will get creamed. Take coal - it employs lots of people - many without advanced skill sets for todays economy - the kind that used to get good paying jobs on assembly lines. Who hires all those folks. It's easy to get caviler with environmental rules when it isn't your job on the line.

It wasn't so many years ago that natural gas (the darling of energy right now) was in short supply and prices were triple what they are now. We also were at the mercy of OPEC for petroleum and gas was over $5 around my area. Fracking is one of the major reasons the US economy has recovered much better from the great recession versus the rest of the world. So before you order a cease and desist order on fracking please explain how you replace all that cheap (DOMESTIC energy) & all the thousands of domestic jobs it has created.

Perhaps, August 20th - someday - will be crowned "Truth Day".
And it will be led by Sacha Baron Cohen...

Don't understand your point. Surely you're not suggesting that we spend more on stuff that's made in more responsible parts of the world, and just on purely ethical grounds quit importing everything from China?

Being from a cold part of Canada, and never having had AC, my first thought was why would you heat a home during the summer time, until I realized that was the cooled down temp.
