Here's one for you:
The constant mainstream media obsession about steroid use. Give it a rest. In fact, I say: Professionals should be encouraged to use anything they want, as much as they want. As modern gladiators, it is their duty to deliver maximum entertainment and maximum carnage to the masses. Bring on the steroids! Bring on the growth hormone! Bring on the human chorionic gonadotropin! And, of course, bring on the lions!

I can think of one prominent governer who used them, and you don't see the media hounds barking up his tree.

I have a decent TV; tube and not HD, but still decent. Multiple Component, Composite, and S-Video connections on the back and sides. Already had the DVD/VCR player hooked up with quality cables. After we move wife gets a deal on satellite TV to replace the insanely expensive cable we had already dropped. Guy comes in to hook everything up - runs a standard 75 ohm cable from the sat receiver to the vcr and from the vcr to the back of the TV. Tells us to watch everything on channel 3. Picture looks like garbage. This isn't the 80's!!!
(With a little know-how and a box of assorted audio and video patch cables, that non-HD tube TV now looks and sounds crystal clear on every channel and movie.)

<whine>

First is was VHS vs Betamax. Then CED vs Laser Disk. Then DVD vs the first two. Now it's Blu-ray vs HD-DVD (who has just lost that battle).

Well, damned if I'm going to start buying Blu-ray at this point. Too much investment in standard DVDs. There are Blu-ray players downward compatible with standard DVDs, but how long will that last?

Recent movies are crap anyway. I already bought enough crap. Don't have room for more crap.

Besides, I don't own or plan on buying an HD-TV any time soon. Without one of those what good is Blu-ray?

Like I need to be able to count the pores on some talking head. :x

Shame on you! How will they sell those pores for "product placement"? :P
