UPDATE:
It has come to our attention that there has been far too much fun going on, so, as of now, TubeNet is a fun-free zone.

Thank you for your myriad suggestions on how to best use my toilets. For those who want to know how the saga ends, I have elected to paint them (school colors) and use them as planters.

Re: Update Update
Can you say dissapointing? Just got the charts for our next community orchestra concert.
Mendelssohn - The Hebrides, Op.26 - NO BONE PARTS
Grieg - Peer Gynt Suite No.1, Op.46 - BONES TACET UNTIL HALFWAY THROUGH MVT 4 then 36 mm of umpah.
Sibelius - The Swan of Tuonela - 11 mm of repetive A at the end.
Mendelssohn - Symphony No.3, Op.56 "Scottish" - NO BONE PARTS
CAN'T WAIT! And people wonder why the back row reads a novel during rehearsal................................
Hey Biggs, I think I found a use for one of your toilets!

Re: Update Update
Sort of makes you wonder what the heck the program/music directors are thinking! Do they actually think they'll sell tickets to this concert? ... or are they just trying to kill their season ticket sales!tbn.al wrote:Can you say dissapointing? Re: Update Update
No doubt! I really like to listen to all of them, although I would prefer to be in the audience instead of my regular seat in the back row. I do wish they would throw us a bone (pun intended) at some point in each concert. 6 rehearsals for 50 measures that adds nothing is a bit much. I think I'll skip a few.bloke wrote:low brass or not, those are some great pieces

Re: Update Update
Some years ago I was sitting next to a fine professional tuba player who, after I complained about the sparse low brass participation, remarked tersely, "I don't get paid by the note." Since I don't get paid at all, the notes are my only reason for showing up. So yes, I am dissapointed. The bone section will go into another room and play trios instead of twiddling our thumbs waiting for our entrances. Who knows, we may even perform some trios at intermission.
