My grown daughters were chuckling over something about a 'tea bag' the other day. I had to look that one up, too. I guess that's all part of getting old!

But Dan, it doesn't matter if you are not up to date on "Burning Man" or "Tea Bags". You are very up to date on things tuba - and that is what counts in our book.

Hey! I keep up on the latest news! A truck driver went to sleep at the wheel and spilled a load of chicken guts all over the Pennyrile Parkway just south of there this morning. The implications are interesting. However.... I understand that this is the day to honor those words for which there is no rhyme. Such at 'orange'. This should be one of Klaus's favorite days since he's our resident 'word guy'.TubaRay wrote:I didn't realize this was a day to honor our politicians....TubaTinker wrote:Today.... tubists all over The World have an excuse.

Damn.... I get that wrong every time I use the words desert and dessert. Is it duzart or dizurt?Biggs wrote:I don't think I could eat another desert. The first was far too hot and dry.TubaTinker wrote:On a simpler note.... today is (drum roll)......

Dessert has two "S"s because you always want seconds.

My band went a couple years ago. It was a good time, but I don't know if I could recommend it if you had to pay the entry fee.TubaTinker wrote:Burning Man Festival 2011.
It isn't about music, and to prove it they have music all the time, just about everywhere.

Re: Update Update
I support amnesty for undocumented residents, but even I think this is ridiculous. As a California taxpayer, I'm aggravated. As an admirer of the UC system (Berkeley, LA, Santa Barbara, et al), I'm terrified. California's public universities are (were?) considered a pinnacle of public higher education in this country and are already in a pretty tight spot due to the entire state being fiscally under water. As such, this makes no sense to me.tofu wrote:bloke wrote:illegal alien - just like the guy who held up my daughter at gunpoint in the same block...

The CSU system probably has it even tougher. And forget about California's community colleges, the largest higher education system in the world.
