Ok, nevermind then, no refugees!

Besides, we already had the Fugees once, and they got pretty popular at one point. I doubt the new ones will be better, and certainly not with that musical talent that Joe posted.

Fortunately, I didn't say assimilate with me, I said assimilate with our culture.

Speak English, watch football, respect secularism, I don't think that's unreasonable, do you??

I get out of having watch football, since I was born here.

Well, I like the idea of the troll getting his comeuppance. That should teach him a thing or two about assimilating.

Well, of course there is nothing we can do about the soccer watching subversives we already have...

But there is no point in adding to their numbers!!

Thanks Joe! Cats to the rescue! BTW the next video in that sequence is about cats taking over dogs beds. Glad you didn't use that one.

Every party has a pooper...
"If you cause stress to an animal that's probably not a good thing," certified animal behaviorist Jill Goldman told National Geographic. “If you do it for laughs it makes me question your humanity."
But don't take the word of a certified animal behaviorist...
Mikel Delgado, a certified cat behavior consultant, told The Huffington Post that "cats vs. cucumber" videos make her uncomfortable.

"This veers into ‘humans doing things just to freak out their cats and film them for the internet’ territory, which I don't feel benefits most cats," Delgado wrote in an email.
A certified cat behavior consultant??

Why do I get the feeling Mikel the cat behavior consultant looks a lot like Arts and Crafts Tony Romo??

Well, perhaps not certified but certainly certifiable...

I've lurked here for years, but haven't posted much. I went down the whole pro-musician performance major training pipeline thingy, but I decided to not go that route. I've still got my horns and all those thousands of hours of practice, so I still enjoy playing. :tuba:

Now I'm training to be a forester. I'm excited that I've crushed my field exam for dendrology, and I've completed this huge paper on grass management. Heck, like 25% of the dendrology class was made up of people who failed it last year.

Anyhow, I find it amusing that this thread is 700-something pages long. . . I remember when it got to 500 and everyone got excited.

So, last night at a Christmas Concert our band was performing, a person from the audience came and asked, "where is the guy with the magic tuba?" The trombone section directed him to me. I guess he had been to a previous concert where I had played my Bubbie 1 as a french horn. It must have made an impression. Unfortunately, I sold that horn. I was playing my Kanstul. He was disappointed. I guess I'll have to order a Bubbie 5 to keep up my reputation.

For the first time in 8 years, we are going to someone else's house for Thanksgiving (wife's parents). It'll be fun, but I will miss all of the cooking.

But:
- wife still made pies, rolls, and bread
- we have a 14 pound turkey in the fridge that we will roast on Friday
- I have plenty of beer

I love Thanksgiving, by far my favorite holiday.

I traveled for Thanksgiving this year, and took the Traeger with me. Turkey turned out really well, lots of compliments. The bourbon that was used for the brine and for the chef was a great bonus.

Heading off to play some background music for an Advent workshop at the church where I rang handbells. Tuba and accordion. This could be fun!

I played at my home church while I was home for Thanksgiving. Gotta say, there aren't many things in life, musically at least, that can top playing hymns with an organ. Fun stuff.
