I ran out of gas right next to the entrance for our small rural airport one time. I walked in to see if I could buy enough gas to get me home, all they had was av-gas.
"What size engine ya got?"
"A little bitty 460 c.i."
"Yeah, it oughta handle av-gas"

Were you around when the Greaseman did his "Sailboaters vs. Powerboaters"?

There are several stations in the Eugene OR area that offer "clear" premium. I run that in my FZ1 and it is much happier.
On a side note, at the "card lock" stations (probably an Oregon phenomenon, since we have no self-serve gas, there are stations that cater to businesses and municipalities. We receive "training" so as to be able to safely fuel our vehicles. Anyway, that is how county mounties buy fuel at night, but I digress) some carry "racing fuel". Every time I tried to put it into my patrol jeep, I was advised that I was attempting to use an "unauthorized product". Mighta helped those 6 cylinders along, dontcha think?
On a side note to that side note - as I suppose you know, as an exception, motorcyclists are entitled to fill their own tank. I don't get down there as often as I would like (northeast Oregon might be the most beautiful spot on earth if we're talking about fairly large spots), and I've never thought to inquire as to whether the attendant would be grateful for the opportunity to fill my tank anyway.

We do get to fill our own motorcycles. Stations where they know me let me run my own card and pick up the pump. Stations where they don't vary; some will let you, some must run your card and hand you the pump. NO ONE puts gas into my bikes but me.

A tease, right?
I forgot to say, it's still in the mail, I'll get it early next week. I'm a gear snob, and I just had to have it. Almost a little embarrassing, but I'm really excited about it. So, not sure if I will post about it.
Got tired of buzzing and flickering fluorescent lights in the shop and sprung for a few LED fixtures to give them a try. If you haven't made the switch yet... these things are awesome!
Don't buy just replacement LED tubes for your old fixtures. I tried some of them too and they suck! Go for the complete fixtures and be done with it.

Yup. Bought one each of the 3200 and 4000 lumens to get a feel for whether I really need the brighter one. The smaller one works just fine. From this point forward I'll not buy any new old-fashioned tubes or mess with replacing ballasts. For $39 for a fixture with built-in tubes that will outlive me... it seems sort of stupid to not upgrade.

My one problem with LEDs I the stupid claims on the packaging. "Lasts 22 years" but the fine print says (based on 3 hours per day). Now, they still last a really long time, but if I leave my lights on more than 3 hours (more like 18 hours, honestly), then its more like 3.5 or 4 years.

Still a long time, but 22 years? Come on!
50,000 hours for the 4,000 lumen fixture.
50,000 hours divided by 8 hours a day is 6250 days. Five days a week equals 24 years. It's gonna outlive me!
