-keys on a short chain (paranoid!)*
-some napkins*
-pen and pencil
-2 folding knives, a CRKT M16-01Z* (nice knife for the price, but this is their cheapest one and I think the others are probably a bit better made) and a sweet little $5 Winchester (great, solid little knife but I need to reglue the handle every few years)
-powerful, $10 a CR2 battery :D, Gerber flashlight
-wallet*
-Sanyo Mirro cell phone (used to take the picture!), useful phone that takes good pictures (dark room below), and is quite easy to check email on, good reception; all I really need out of a phone*

*What I actually carry every day. Listed is stuff I should carry every day. :D I usually carry 2 pencils, a small notebook, and a Bach 18 in a rubber mp holder when doing Army stuff, though the phone somewhat negates the notebook. I just don't type on it too good. :D
I should have some sort of multi-tool/screwdriver-shaped-like-a-pen/... as well. I have a nice, solid 1-piece CRKT fixed blade that I would carry more but the holster only fits around your ankle and I don't want to do that. I prefer fixed blade knives but folders work fine for day to day stuff. 2 knives because 2 is none and 1 is none.
I bought the Gerber for my brother who moved to San Fransisco recently so he'd have a useful little thing on him but he didn't want it. I'll give it to my mother next time I see her.

I actually hate carrying lots of stuff day to day....

I need to get my FOID application turned so I can start working on my personal armory though, thread-wise, not EDC at all unless alien dinosaurs land and if they do I'll probably be carrying an M16 and being eaten :D; if not-

and a bunch of (expensive!) ammo-

is probably my best real world bet (curved stock would be nice) though some sort of .50 cal would be sweet!

Don't forget to throw an EOTech and suppressor on the levergun... :D

I really like the Leatherman Squirt P4. It's tiny but offers a lot of capabilities. The little flat-head/bottle opener is a pretty good screwdriver and an okay bottle opener. The spring-loaded pliers are very handy (especially for splinters), but it is easier to run them too hard and screw up the spring-loading components. The flat Phillips driver is also very nice. The file on it is okay, but I don't use it all that much. The blade on it is pretty sharp out of the box but I only use it when I don't have a folder on me (virtually never). What I really like is the awl on the P4. That little guy tears through thin plastics with a vengeance.

You also can't go wrong with a Swiss Army Knife. I got an Explorer for around $21 and it's just amazing. GREAT flat-head screwdriver, very good scissors and an impressive main blade. There have a zillion models for you to pick and choose what tools you want.

I conceal a vintage sawed-off double barreled shotgun of unknown make. :x

No.
I usually just have keys, cellphone, and a wallet in my pockets.
Pretty boring, huh?

If only a person could do that "legally"...............
Isn't it like 5 bucks to transfer ownership of something like that and like 200 to make it? As far as carrying it, Alaska seems to have pretty open laws. :D

wallet
chap stick
key ring.

Don't carry the Glock 19 although I have the permit to do so concealed. It is still heavy and big for my size, and....I kind of prefer the mindset of the karate master who is gone before the trouble starts.

I have one of those key caddies right by the front door, that holds all the keys that are ever needed but not on a regular basis. For example, the key to the lock on the RV plug in the side yard. There is a single hook inside the door that gets the car/house keys when I come in the house, *always.* I was late to too many things when I was younger from frantically trying to figure out where I set down the keys, and hence the hook on the hinge side of the door. I also do not have any doors going to outside that can be locked without a key; no "button on the doorknob" type locks. Too many windows having to be broken because the @#$% door got locked by accident with the keys still inside.

Mary Ann,what sort of holster and belt are you using to carry the Glock 19. I use a Galco Summer Comfort inside the pants holster and a thick Galco belt to carry a Glock 23 (same size and weight except chambered for .40) almost always when in plainclothes (for me, T-shirt with the tails out and jeans or shorts). A lot of people spend 500-700 on a good CCW handgun and attempt to carry it in a $15 holster and a department store belt. This is false economy and will certainly become very uncomfortable in a short period of time. What I have discovered is that selecting the method and means of carrying the pistol is as difficult, if not more so, than selecting the handgun itself. Never ever scrimp on quality when selecting holsters and belts for concealed carry of weapons. Buy the absolute best you can afford - your life may depend on it.

When I'm actually walking to and from places, I have my cell phone, keys, a pen and pencil, wallet, collapsible headphones, ipod and, now that I am growing my hair out again, a few extra hair ties. If not, it's just wallet, phone, ties and keys. On campus, and in other walking occasions, I have my trusty "Jack Sack", so named because a similar one was used by Jack Bauer in an earlier season of "24".
