I'm a firm believer in gun control. If there's a gun around, I need to control it.
It is my belief that gun control means being able to hit what you are shooting at every time, not innocent bystanders. By the way, there are no innocent squirrels, rabbits or similar varmints.

St. Paul Tuba Christmas had 151 participants this year. More impressive was the totally packed house to hear the concert. This is always fun to see old friends who I only see at Tuba Christmas. They even saved me a seat in the same place. I played my 1906 York Eb. It was the oldest horn by 20 years. Oldest player was 81 and the youngest 11. One of the local high schools taught the clarinets, trumpets and others how to play baritone or tuba so they could have 18 members of their band attending. The player seemed a bit younger this year. A good sign for the future.

They get that way. It's part of aging for us old-folks...

Well, the first presentation of this year's Christmas Program is complete. It went pretty well. I have another tonight and one on Sunday. This is the first time I played my miraphone with the orchestra. It plays and blends very nicely. Since the concert is 2 hours long with lots of playing, I really appreciate the free blowing nature of the horn. The concert is being live streamed. The next performance is at 7:30 pm CST on Saturday Dec 9th and 4 pm CST Sunday Dec 10th. Here is a link to that live stream if you are interested. http://www.woodburylutheran.org/resourc ... e-worship/" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

Just got done doing a two night gig at the Seneca Niagara Casino in the Falls with an orchestra for Cirque Holiday BELIEVE. They hire a full orchestra ( tuba and harp!) and the performers are amazing with their acrobatic skills. Anyone playing this show in NE, Canada, NYC, Tennessee, or Florida—you are in for a treat...great show, music, and performers...fun weekend...enjoy!!

I continue to forget that since everything here is closed on Sundays, if I want to eat that day without going out then I need to buy more on Saturday. Well, I forgot again.

What my luck too that it’s been snowing all day and the closest place open was a pizza shop about a mile round trip down the hill. Thankfully it wasn’t too icy, the pizza is good, and I have enough beer.

Well, clearly then, you're not "international"...

I’m flying home for Christmas. Bringing home some beer for everyone. I think I’ve exceeded the weight limit.

I have a Midnight service tonight and then a 1030AM service tomorrow with Lake Effect Snow warning starting this evening....I guess I can always use the tuba gig bag as a pillow if I need to sleep in a pew between services....

A White Christmas for sure...3 more feet expected by Wednesday...

LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 6 PM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Travel will become
very difficult, including Christmas Day as well as the back to
work morning commute on Tuesday. Total snow accumulations of
up to 3 feet are expected in the most persistent lake snows.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will
cause areas of significant blowing and drifting snow.

Merry Christmas!

It might not get above zero at any point on Christmas day, or any day next week. Super cold and sunny. It's the weirdest thing to me!
