Re: Update Update
Oh, I certainly don't want to cut more than I need to... It's a well established neighborhood and a well (over-) grown backyard. A one way street to cut it down... But it was a nuisance, that probably had been ignored for a long time by the previous homeowner.

Re: Update Update
Sorry to hear about your buddy Bloke. 16 years is quite good tho!
My little buddy which I adopted in Cali before moving to Sweden was diagnosed with diabetes a few weeks ago. Had noticed his increased peeing, and brought him in. He's only 8. Really soul crushing to get such news. Not an option to 'put him down', while at the same time not fun having to give him insulin twice a day for, potentially, rest of his life.
Been researching and trying to do everything we can to get him into remission. He actually didn't need insulin between Thursday -> Monday, but needed it again today.
Fingers crossed, but your post hit pretty close to home for me due to our scare just a few weeks ago.

Re: Update Update
Went to the Doctor today, concerned about a cut on my finger, which occurred on 1 July, that just wouldn't heal. Ended up in emergency surgery to remove gangrene that had set in. Oh, the joys of diabetes...
My finger is going to be heavily bandaged and in a splint until further notice. To add insult to injury, I bought a new bass guitar yesterday and now will not be able to audition it on my own bass stack unless and until the finger makes a full recovery.
Believe me, never again will I wait so long to get a suspicious wound checked out.

Several months ago somebody parked a BMW in the long term car park of Adelaide South Australia airport. Suspicious registration plates COVID19. At least now we know how it got here - maybe......

It's OK if you didn't pick one up at HF, they probably didn't have what I'd want anyway, plus I'm totally out of room for anything like that.bloke wrote:You’ll cut your arm off.Donn wrote:I always wanted a 14" bandsaw.
Interesting premise, though. Suppose you cut your arm off - what would you do with it?
Reattachment would certainly be the first thing I'd think of, but aside from that.

Last time that happened in my house, she was beginning what is commonly called "thyroid storm", caused by the thyroid suddenly going super over-active. If not treated in time, the body is literally eaten up from the inside.
Got a lot done in a short time, though!

Re: Update Update
My wife and I picked about 20 pounds of blueberries today, on an uncommonly hot Minnesota day. She is now making our yearly blueberry buckle... Which if you don't know, is sort of like a coffee cake, but with an extreme amount of blueberries in it. (Like, more berries than batter.) She seems exhausted, but blueberry day only comes around once a year!
3 valves... I seriously miss the peach ice cream I used to get in southern PA!
