More eBay fun. Certainly this picture needs a caption of some sort.

I don't get it. The bass that is pictured is noted that it is a 3/4 size. This auction is for a 1/8 bass. What the hell is that?! A viola?

Might make a good planter!

Well, it IS a Hand-Carved "Laminated" Student Double Bass

"QUESTION: How Do I Know Which Size To Order [Bass]?

ANSWER: Our Basses are available in 6 different sizes: 4/4" (also called full size), 3/4", 1/2", 1/4", 1/8" and 1/16". 16" size being the biggest and 1/16" size being the smallest. All adults, regardless of their size, use the 4/4" bass.

To measure what size bass best suits you, we recommend visiting a local music store. Comfort is critical, and to get the best fit, it's best to literally "test drive" the various sizes.

If you have a teacher, you should ask for your teacher's recommendation, as well.

The following chart lists the length of each bass size. Find your length using the your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of bass to get."

Clear now?

Well, in the section on "How to Order the Right Size", it does indicate that "Ordering the proper size viola is very important."

Hmmm ... there's a lake near here; wonder if it would double as a "bass boat" for the test drive?

That's a pretty good caption, windshieldbug. Did you copy it from another auction, or are you really becoming that skilled at this kind of thing?

I'm not sure how much volume one would expect when trying to play a bass that way.

That lady looks so happy while trying to bow a bass with the strings loose as spagetti. She could be faking it!
