A paramedic friend tells me that Thanksgiving's getting busier as more people start using these fryers. Evidently, a fair number of folks don't know the bit about not tossing a fully-frozen bird into the oil.

I will be frying one tomorrow. What is more amazing is that people will choose to fry inside as opposed to outside.

One shortcut I found was to cut the bird in half. You can cook a 30 pound turkey in half of the time if you cut it down the middle and cook it as two 15 pound sections.
