ahhh....the middle school concert

i dont know if its just me....but every middle school/youth concert band ive seen, has one tenor sax player that somehow drowns out the whole band...which isnt that big.

And again the one tonight was no different...

its Bass as in TUBA.......or alberti bass, like the typical form of chord you hear on a piano, which is broken into an arpeggio.

It would be nice to be a fish, so ill have to give you a "nice try"

This *definitely* isn't to be confused with the one that I will be attending next week. It's my first at the middle school and it was a big shocker to discover that there's not a single holiday song in sight. I'm predicting it will be a drummer in the gym with a snare.

I did hear the ultimate neutral holiday song at my daughter's program last week so take note all you aspiring composers because this could be what the stuff that concerts of the future are made of!

"Celebrate what you celebrate with joy..." was how it went.

1/ Well, I've worked in both, shopped in both, and played in bands in both (being half-way-between has its advantages). I studied at WMU (Kalamazoo), and play in the Kalamazoo Concert Band, so that does bias me somewhat in that direction, but they both have advantages, and it's nice to have the option (either one's about 10 minutes away).

2/ As far as I know, it is, but probably just (it takes about an hour to get to the Indiana border from here (in good weather

)).
