Just announced yesterday (and the headline of today's Chicago Tribune). The home of many a tubist's trip, especially during the Midwest Convention, The Berghoff in downtown Chicago will close in February after a 100+ tear run. Gone will be the dark beer, weiner schnitzel and the pushy waiters. This has been a long time hangout for ever!

Is there nothing sacred . . .
First Marshall Field & Company becomes, of all things, Macy's. Now this.
What is next? Synthesized tubas at the CSO?

If I remember correctly, Moog #3 was at Northwestern University. York #3, if it exists is either in Lake Michigan or buried with Jimmy Hoffa.
At least Superdawg is still there - went there last night. Another Chicago institution!
Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
