I just thought this was kinda cool... Hard to imagine playing while riding! Let alone playing a horn that looks like it's from India!!! What's up with the checker board on the horses ***???
Well, somehow I get the impession the music is at rest whenever the horse is in more than first gear...
Cool pic by the way. The checker board is applied by laborious use of a brush. I´ve watched this done to a horse getting ready for a performance of fancy riding in Circus Sarrasani about 14 years ago.
I must admit I didn´t pay too much attention to the brushing technique. The person performing it was a little more interesting

When one of the bands I'm in played at the BrassBand Festival in Danville, KY a few years ago we watched the parade which had a brass band playing on top of a huge elephant walking at the front of the parade. They had 8 or 9 guys up there including a tuba player AND a guy on the back end with a huge bass drum playing facing the opposite direction. Wish I had a picture - it was awesome and they sounded great.
I think it was either that year or another year we played there and once again in the parade there was a band that played while riding bicycles including a guy playing a Sousaphone. Once again very impressive!
