Getting Old
I just turned 40 in December and I feel so terribly old. The other day I was in the check out line at a local grocery store and KISS' "Rock & Roll All Night" came on the MUZAK! KISS on MUZAK!! Isn't that one of the seven signs of the Apocalypse?

I heard a Muzak "Highway to Hell" with pizzicato strings in about 1983. I've not been the same since!

I'm not sure, but if Gene Simmons conducts the 101 Strings, start thinking about a conversion plan!Kevin Miller wrote:Isn't that one of the seven signs of the Apocalypse?

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

While riding the bus a few weeks ago, I hears some teens conversing about the type of music they liked.
Teen 1: " I love classical music"
Teen 2: " What do you listen to?"
Teen 1: " Oh, the Beatles . . . Rolling Stones . . . stuff like that"
Reminds me of getting a birthday card: "Happy Birthday! See you soon. Love, God"

When you put it this way, what do you have to live for?the elephant wrote: What I see in my near future:
Walking (thousands of miles of walking)
Salad (not the good kind with lots of stuff on it . . . we're talking Rabbit Food)
No more foods that are battered and fried (or tasty)
No more beer
Many hours of feeling sorry for myself
Better health
Longer life

Yep... I resemble that remark! It's a bitch getting old! I'm 39 this year with possible liver issues that cause me to eat better, exercise more and everything else... There are the genitic few that don't have any problems but I think for the majority of us we all face some kind of "wake up call" around this time in our lives. No more eating those greasy foods and good beer.the elephant wrote:Let us see here . . . two more days and I am 41. What will I "get" as presents?
Problems with:
Chronic Hemorrhoids
Chronic Prostate problems
Carpel Tunnel in my right pinky
Arthritis in my thumbs
Beginning of Dental problems
Chronic thyroid problems
Weight problems from thyroid
Weight problems from stupidity
Family history of heart problems
Family history of Diabetes
Fear of imminent death from last two items
What I see in my near future:
Walking (thousands of miles of walking)
Salad (not the good kind with lots of stuff on it . . . we're talking Rabbit Food)
No more foods that are battered and fried (or tasty)

Pshaw! I've had all that stuff. I married 'the blond' and it took me 27 years to figure out that I couldn't stand her. The Harley leaked oil... and Corvettes are REALLY over-rated...Doc wrote: I don't want to recapture my youth with an 18 year old blond, a Harley, or a Corvette....

I am 64, play in a rock band, have lots of cool toys and a neat wife and I like my son and grandson. If I can stay out of debt, I will consider myself one of the luckiest fools to ever tread this planet.
We ( John Reno and the half-fast Creekers) have been invited to play in Galveston, Texas July 28 for a Parrothead party. I hear a lot from Texas tuba players on this forum. If we can find a way to hook up and drink beer, we should do it.

You ARE getting old. Thinking of getting one of those lead-injection face lifts, eh?MartyNeilan wrote:SO... when are you inviting him over?bloke wrote: Folks who come out to have work done will (eventually) be able to fish, hunt deer/turkey (not much "hunting" to it...they're right there), and pick stuff from the garden.
