Sweden's national dish is an acquired taste, to say the least.

Some say surstromming, a fermented herring, smells like rubbish left out in the sun for days.

But now the fish has been banned from several major airlines, classified along with dangerous weapons like shoe bombs and firearms.

Yet another old saying's been "stood on its head" -- they've declared it to be both fish *and* foul!

Where can I get this sour herring? It sounds like something I might like... or not...

Just something else to add to my collection of foods that I tried and didn't like...

GOAT • MUTTON • HAGGIS • YAMS • PIG BRAINS • SWEETBREADS • PERSIMMONS • TURKEY GIBLETS

more to come...

They say they'll ship worldwide.

You might try it with a little durian on the side...
