Tuba City is the largest city on the Navajo Indian Reservation (which isn't that big). The Navajo Reservation is the only part that goes on Daylight Saving Time in Arizona, so Tuba City is the only incorporated city that changes clocks twice a year in Arizona.
It was named for a Hopi chief; Tuba is a shortened form of his name.
I have spent some time in Tuba City. It is a very relaxing place. I stayed in a nice motel that cost next to nothing.
KTNN, a 50,000 watt AM radio station in Window Rock, Arizona, which broadcasts Tuba City High School sports.
You can listen to KTNN on the Internet at this address:

Yeah, I have been there too. Not much going on there. The Indians are quite nice to the white man compared to a few other reservations I have been on.
I have a tuba city mug to remember it by. Yay.

I have literally, "been there, done that, got the t-shirt." I'm glad I've been there. I see no particular reason to go back.

A Navajo taco is meat, beans, and salad on
fry bread . It's a local favorite.

On a serious note, Lori Piestewa, who was was from Tuba City, died in the series of incidents in which Jessica Lynch received such notoriety.

So?
The teachers in this district get housing that costs next to nothing. The pay is not that great but the biggest expense for a teacher is housing. This employer takes care of that.
And some of us find treeless sandy areas attractive.
