In NJ, only two bridges that I know of are open for traffic across the Delaware River, and the news reported that the river is 16 feet OVER normal flood levels. We're dry here, but I can't say the same for everyone else.
I'll trade a day or two--97F here yesterday.

You're right, though. Bayonne sucks. The truly amazing thing, though, is what has happened to Hoboken in the past 10 years or so. Hoboken used to be a slum...dirty, dangerous...not the sort of place you wanted to be. Now, it is a haven for folks working in Manhattan who don't want to live in NY. The price of real estate in Hoboken is ridiculous. And, believe it or not, parts of Jersey City are becoming like that, too. Maybe it's a matter of time before it trickles into Bayonne...
Tim Murphy, not from any of the aforementioned towns, but close enough.

Alfie,
I live in upstate NY, specifically Rochester. We didn't have any flooding here, thank goodness. I have been to the Binghamton area and eastern NY traveling on the Thruway. The Mohawk River is beautiful to see on the highway.
Send me a PM or e-mail at my profile and we can talk privately some more.

I have a great aunt who lives in Sidney, NY, which is about 30 miles north of Binghampton. I haven't heard from her yet to get the inside story, but it surely isn't good.
Last I saw in the news, the whole town flooded out, and it looked pretty bad. You can view some photos here:

Hmm... we're nearing political posts there... BUT... having a best friend from Mississippi I can't say that I disagree with the previous bloke statements.
Hope everyone in the north and south are safe! Weather in this country gets crazier and crazier each year!
