Many have told me that BMW driveshaft bikes are the finest. I was sorely tempted to buy one a while back.
Ignoramus that I am, I had no idea this 1976 Yamaha RD 400 I got from a brother-in-law was a special bike until people began stopping me everywhere trying to buy it out from under me.
I would never attend a motorcycle rally because my big mouth would get my butt kicked for sure.

Yes the Yamaha RDs were special bikes. I had a '73 RD350B back in the 80's. Super two strokers that won Daytona in the early 70's kickin the buts of all the big bore bikes. It had absolutely no power at all below 5000 RPMs, but when the tach hit 5000 you had better be holding on! it was a Wheelie monster!
Of course now in my older age and wisdom, I have no interest in doing that stuff anymore.
BMWs attract a different breed of cat, not the same as a Black Hills or Daytona bike week (harley badboy) type rally. We are a much more sedate group. Not alot of butt kickin going on......
