Anyone have any personal experience with these?

I know 2 people who owned them and they were cr*p. The Saturn L series was a rebadged Opel model that is known to be unreliable and have major design flaws. Avoid these unless you like spending a lot of time at a repair shop.

Although I am not familiar with that specific year and model, I have regretfully owned one Saturn and later seriously considered purchasing others hoping they would be better, but research has unfortunately proven otherwise. My suggestion would be to read EPinions, Cars.com, consumer reports (OK, maybe not them, those commie pinkos hate anything made in America) and see what what they say.

FWIW, I think the concept behind Saturns is great, its just the execution that stinks - thanks, General Morons!.

. That's why I came to the "Tubenet Freak Jury" to get the experiences from real folks. If it can't make a tuba player happy, then it must be pretty bad.

Play it (er,... drive it) yourself. If its in tune, and fits you, don't wait! If it isn't and it doesn't, do!

There is one big difference: If you play a tuba and like it, It will probably still play the same with propper care 5 years from now. A car , on the other hand has the ability to turn into a lemon within a matter of weeks

My son bought his wife a new Saturn and that all-plastic body was rattling like crazy by the end of the first month (not the wife, the car). A pox on them, I say, a pox on them. The car did outlast the marriage, however.
To all Saturn manufacturers:
