Any Tom Waits fans?

Post by tubafatness »

I was just wondering about this. I have, in this last year, really started to listen and like his music. I say he's the best of the older singer/songwriters, i.e., Dylan and Leonard Cohen. I'm going to have the chance to see Waits on August 9th; I managed to get two premium tickets to his Chicago show. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when the man himself is about 10 feet away!

Hint: don't yell "Freebird!"...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

I'm a big fan also, if you've not seen him act, rent the movies "Down By Law", and "Coffee and Cigarettes". Concert advice??
Seems like he might like booze a bit, although maybe that's the persona, I wouldn't let him pass out on me.
Peace.

I like his music when I get to hear it, but never got around to buying CDs.
A friend of mine had this album where he performed at least one piece with some kind of brass choir. Ifd I were to buy his work, that would be the one I´d go for first.

Anybody know which one that is? Don´t have names of piece nor choir, though.

Yeah, TOM WAITS IS Great!

Im seeing him in GNashville at the grand ole opry. We are lucky bastards, considering that the tickets sold out in seconds for this tour.
Have fun at the show man!
