Forgive the whining, but Doc, I know you am what you am and all, but as a favor to some of us, could you hold back on the F word a little? I'm getting tired of hearing it on the street (mostly from teenage girls and drunks) as it is.

Thanks much!
:)

18. And between bloke, Lee, Dan, Matt, Andy and a few others whose names escape me so late at night, someone will know how to fix it, or at least point you in the right direction for getting it figured out to fix it. I still thank bloke for accelerating my learning curve on clearing the water out of my comp loops.

19. For the most part, the only thing new is the history you don't know. Before barging in on new question topics, please at least attempt to search present and past to see if a same or similar thread is out there that can either answer your question, or at least provide a starting point for posting the next question bringing the available context with it. If you're clueless about how the search engines, either present or past, work, PM either Sean or anybody with a few posts, we'll be happy to help you sort it out. Of course, please read this in conjunction with #s 8 & 9.

Doc, feel free to comment, edit, or amend as you see fit.

Doc wrote:My apologies, kind sir. As a veteran police officer and veteran musician, I have no aversion to a well-placed expletive. Fairly flippin' fabulous, fellah!

Fanks!

Funny thing is that I've known a lot of cops (mostly Feds) and they've been pretty restrained in their expletives.

Doc - I didn't know that you're a cop. You're in 1 of the 2 most thankless professions along with the firefighters. So I'll hoist my tall frosty mug to you all in humble appreciation.

I believe that teaching should be in those thankless professions as well. If only because a teacher can't shoot back.

I guess I can shoot back, but I have to actually clock in at the police department before I can do it.

It gets funny when I go on patrol on weekends and deal with my students or their parents. Also, as I don't carry while teaching, it is not very far away.

We might need to trade stories sometime. Some of the audience might get a kick out of some tales of what happens at school.

OUCH.....................

I'd bet that the officers on duty didn't have a sence of humor right then............ .........

Schlepporello,

That sounds like a good professional who is courteous and straight forward. Not too many of those around. Glad to see that there was no over reaction.

I have seen many places where the guard would confiscate without another thought.

Further explanation, in case you just really need it, for #22: They know how to open their mouth, relax the throat, take a deep breath, and keep a little lip over the bottom teeth. So herren mit tuben put up with frauen mit niedriges holzblasinstrument.

You weren't driving, by chance, an old Mt. Prospect Police car with a cop motor, a four hundred and forty-cubic-inch plant. Cop springs. Cop shocks. Cop suspension. Cop tires. Made before catalytic converters (so it runs on regular gas)

...with a full tank of gas, a half a pack of cigarettes, dark and wearing sunglasses? Or something like that - the direct quote would get the grammar Nazi after me as in its original context it would be a non-sequitur.

Almost had a similar situation last week. About a month ago my family went camping in the Smoky Mountains. I have a hefty solid stainless steel (really) hatchet that has a hammer on the opposite side of the blade. Great for one handed firewood chopping or using the hammer side to drive tentpegs, but potentially very lethal. I locked it in a secure storage compartment at the end of the trip to keep it away from the kids, but then forgot about it. WHen I went looking for it last week, it wasn't there. My wife said, oh, she needed to put the camera in the locking compartment, so she just slipped the hatchet right under the driver's seat, I should be able to reach down and pull it out.

Doc Said:
#10. It is perfectly acceptable, and widely appreciated, to post pictures of food, beer, etc. at any given point. No relationship to the thread is necessary.
Well...I'm not sure if that's an okay rule now...check one of the forum areas, and he (Sean) asks that we don't do that now

21. Just because you have a randon thought doesn't mean that you should share it with the rest of us. Don't always listen to the voices in your head that are telling you to post.

22. This is "Tubenet". It discusses tubas. We really don't give a **** about other instruments - other than appropriate doublers - so take your questions about bass flutes and ultralow recorders to another forum. Generally speaking, we have nothing good to say about woodwinds UNLESS we are sleeping with the hot chick that plays them - and even then, we are only doing so long enough to get her naked.
Ahh to be young again! Wait, I thought this thread was locked! Kinda reminds of when "LoyalTubist" signed up and responded to almost every post in one weekend!

He posted over 100 times in one night! Impressive. I watched them accumulate because I have no life . . .
That was impressive, wasn't it?
