Hi, all

So, can I replace the broken mast on my power antenna, ('98 Ford Taurus,) should I get a whole new power system (ca. $40,) or should I just convert to a traditional mast. Where do you find new antennae? I've tried many local parts stores, and they have generic replacement kits, but not specifically replacement masts. Any ideas???

I've got one on my Toyota Avalon and keep hoping that it won't break. As much as we don't want to hear it the dealership will probably be your best bet.

I replaced my power antenna on my 94 Camry years ago. It was fairly simple.

I did a quick 'google' search for 'Taurus Power Antenna Replacement' and found one article that may help:

I hate power antennas. By the time a car is old enough for me to buy it, the power antenna is rusty and starts jamming. I usually cut the wires to the electric motor and leave it in the up position.

Funny, I usually do the same but with it down. (I hate music, don'cha know . . . )

Too true, but to be honest, I'm too lazy to change the 6 CD's in the changer and I need to hear something different. In my defense, I play long tones when I could be changing the CD's!
