IE 7

The official release is finally out. Big whoop - Opera / Firefox wannabe.
No matter how I try to configure my screen, I still have about 1/2" less viewable webpage than with IE6 - I was able to get everything including the address on one line before.
We have a test box up at work because we know there are going to be issues relating to it.

Any other comments good or bad?

You mean, like, "I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole"?

Personally, I find this to be Explorer's most salient feature:

it is that it's far easier for me to delete my cookies and history than before.
Better to just stay away from those dorn sites.

Funny you should mention that. The Vista desktop gives me a headache...

Windows Vista and/or Office Vista has a "Frequently Used Command" feature.
Virtually everything in computers is addressed by an acronym.
I wonder what they will call that one?
I would love to see the name of the toolbar for it!

They're always the sort of people that you have to watch!

I think Bill G. art directed the last Star Wars flick. Or was it George L. who designed the FUCced up Vista interface?

Either way, they're people we usually *do* end up watching, whether we really want to or not...

The most complimentary thing about Vista that I've heard so far is "It runs almost as fast as XP". :?

The betas of IE7 are what finally drove me to Firefox. MS made Cleartype the default in IE7 (absolutely unreadable!), which was bad enough, but it also changed all the fonts in Outlook Express as well. The only solution was to uninstall.

Firefox does it all. I have no regrets.

...except for some pages on the M$ site. Try opening some http://www.microsoft.com pages in IE and then in Firefox. They look different--and some are non-functional in Firefox.

All I'm saying is that while Firefox is very good (and the betas of FF 2.0 look even better), don't ditch your copy of IE quite yet.

Does that surprise you? MS commonly buys companies for no other reason than to throw them under the bus. This is not a benevolent company we're discussing here...
