The reporters never said if the thug got his playstation 3 or not. How frustrating!
I understand Playstation 3 kicks butt.
I still have Playstation 1 and am now shopping to steal Playstation 2, cheap.
When #3 gets down to $125 I'm all over it.

I saw another TV story on it--the malefactor did get his PS3. Rules is rules, I guess and no one said anything about playing dirty.
The funny thing is that from what I can determine, a large proportion of the folks who waited in line and got the PS3 promptly turned around and sold them on ePay. So much for actually wanting the gizmo for itself.
The holdup in production is evidently the blue laser diode used in the Blu-ray DVD drive being in very short supply. From the following article, it's not likely to get a whole lot better anytime soon:
