Especially on the arias written for coloratura soprano (e.g. Queen of the Night). Bound to get profound respect from your fellow audience members.

OTOH, on "sing along Messiah" events where the solos are sung by audience members at large, I've been known to get up with the ladies and sing "I know that My Redeemer Liveth" in my best falsetto...

Does that qualify as insane?

12A. On an aria written for coloratura soprano, wave your arms, stop the performance, ascend to the stage, and apologize for the singer's "off color" performance. Then declare that, "... we tried to get Michael Richards, but he just slurred EVERYTHING!"
