Quotes for the New Year

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wise men profit more from fools than fools from wise men; for the wise men shun the mistakes of fools, but fools do not imitate the successes of the wise. (Al Franken, 2002)

Laughing at our mistakes can lengthen our own life. Laughing at someone else's can shorten it. (Confucius, 551 BC - 479 BC)

We're all capable of mistakes, but I do not care to enlighten you on the mistakes we may or may not have made. (Cullen Hightower)

The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one. (Dr. David M. Burns)

When you make a mistake, don't look back at it long. Take the reason of the thing into your mind and then look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power. (Henry James, 1843 - 1916)

Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes. (James Joyce, 1882 - 1941)

May the road always rise to meet you and may the wind at your back not be your own.

It's been my experience that the road always rises to meet me at the most inconvenient times... Image :D

I stole the quote that I just put in my signature from a book called "Wit" by Des MacHale. It's full of humorous quotes, and due to a large amount of laziness, I don't remember who said it...

"Yesterday, I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in there, I'll never know"

Heres another

"Auntie, did you feel no pain
falling from that apple tree?
Would you do it,
Please again,
'cause my friend here didn't see?"

That's just 3 of them...one of them is in my signature.

Groucho was in his pajamas? That helps explain it. I'm confused. Wait! No. Maybe I'm not.

Yeah...as I think about it, I think it might have been Groucho Marx...
