Electric Bass methods

Does anybody out there know a good electric bass method book that I could use to take a student from being able to play a basic bass pattern and such to being able to play some advanced styles? Failing that, what are a few good electric bass method books that I should check out for the school, or me, to own? I don't play very well myself so I can't help him much there.

If they're going to learn to read charts, any beginner classical upright bass book. This is actually preferable, because it wil show the classical pizzacato method of using just slightly to the side of the index and middle fingers of the "picking" hand (I can't say right hand and insult all the left handed bass players), and learning the index, middle and pinky technique with the thumb on the back of the neck, along with positions to learn facility up and down the neck, which produces a better tone than most who dig in straight ahead while grabbing the neck like a fence post and wonder why their notes go "boing" instead, and then sit in front of their record player or CD player, or now MP3 or other download, and wonder why they can't figure out the riff to their favorite tune.
