All I know is that it will be a long time before I buy a Snickers again.

I think that the idea of "status" television commercials done during the Super Bowl has run its course.
Advertisers have probably determined that playing the same commercial incessantly at high compressed volumes is as effective as anything.

I enjoyed the "Grand Theft Auto" Coke ad, the Bud ad with the dog and also had a laugh at the Letterman/Oprah ad.

The Super Bowl commercials were very lame - as was the game. No comment on the half-time-I didn't watch it, Prince isn't worth my time.

Perhaps the marketing was "outsourced"...
and the new writers have an even lower opinion of us than the
real advertisers did

Anyone else notice a drop in the "clever" and a rise in the "odd-for-odd-sake" commercials lately? Pandering to the newest generation's lowest common denominator? Dunno... but their not funny...
I've got to agree with you on this one.

Prince looked and played as usual (the turban was a little much) but I find it hard to believe his guitar was really plugged up in the driving rain.
He had to be synching up with pre-recorded tracks.

That one wasn't new, it's been on before.
My favorite was the Blockbuster ad where the rabbit and hamster were using an actual mouse as a computer mouse. Call me simple, but I thought that was the best of the bunch.

Sorry, I don't care if the "artist" formerly known as an unpronounceable symbol formerly known as himself made a dime. Lots of people paid millions for what he got as free air time. For that, he could stand to get wet, hair net and all!

I am waiting for the tape from home.
You haven't seen anything until you have seen the commercials on Vietnamese TV. I think the road safety commercials use pictures of real accidents spliced into their message. Do they mean anything? No... I live about a block from Hanoi Highway (Route 52, if you have your handy dandy Vietnam Road Atlas). I am always seeing semi-trucks flip over onto a motorcycle--usually very late at night.

Superbowl? Why would anyone want to spend all afternoon watching some huge bowling tournament? Talk about boring.
