Tuba Solo in 1949 Fighting Kentuckian- Who did it

I was watching this on AMC and it has a great solo at the beginning of the movie while John Wayne is avoiding having to go back with the them to Kentucky from Mobile, AL

1949 movie

i did a search and didnt see anything on here

awesome simple solo and great lyrical sound.
Anyone have an idea who did it?

Prior to the late 1950s, Los Angeles motion picture studio musicians were on contract. That means they played music for the movies as a regular 9-to-5 job. Since this was an independent film, it's a little more difficult to find. Norman Pearson usually knows this stuff pretty well.

I did a partial interview with George Boujie before he passed away a few years ago. He was the tubist with MGM for many years.
