Does anyone have a picture of a Blue Note tuba strap? I'd like to see if it would work well on a 3/4 Amati. Thanks.

I just got one for Christmas caroling and such on my YEB321. Works ok for carrying the tuba but I can't position the mouthpiece in quite the right position for playing by moving the strap attachments, so I have to use my left hand to shift it slightly while playing. Not a big deal, though.

I never used a strap. One of the Army bands I played in used our upright tubas whenever we played for a certain general because he said he didn't like tubas--he meant he didn't like sousaphones.

I've used a Blue Note on an Amati Eb as well as with my Marzan. I would imagine it should work for your 3/4 Amati.

I have a Blue Note tuba strap around here somewhere but like lots of things... I can't find it when I want to! If I find it, I'll post the instruction sheet. Anyway... it consists of a regular strap with snaps on both ends AND two velcro 'attachment' loops that can be placed just about anywhere on the horn. The loops can then stay on the horn and the strap taken off. I've not actually used mine because I have been using a Meinl tuba harness when I do stand-up gigs. Where I think the Blue Note strap would be most effective is if you just need something to stabilize your horn between playing it... such as when changing music or resting between tunes. I don't know if I would want a single strap supporting the full weight of my horns so I stick with the harness.

Sounds like a great solution. I have a 3/4 Weril, but need to do a quick change to bass. It seems silly to have a stand for such a small tuba, like Vince Giordano does, but that may be necessary.
My bass playing will not suffer from being a little removed from the instrument...I don't think anything can possibly harm my bass playing at this point.
